I was referred to CrossFit FAST through a friend of mine. Her sister Kat worked out there and said she loved it and highly recommended it. I made an appointment to attend a free trial session with Coach Terry. I met Coach Terry and he explained the program and took me through my first WOD. It really showed me how out of shape I was but it challenged me enough to make me want to do it. I live in Canoga Park and work in Santa Monica, so Coach Terry explained to me that there were closer Crossfit's to my home and work so I wouldn't have to drive all the way out there 3-4 days per week. I made the committment and went religiously 3-4 days per week. I attended Olympic lifting workshops, Fight Gone Bad, Amazing Grace and other events and absorbed all the information I could. One of the WOD's made me throw up, because I pushed myslef so hard. The coaches and group cheered me on and clapped for me which helped me push through the workout. The coaches have always been there for me, willing to help teach me the movements and always pushing me further than I would have pushed myself. After only one month I had already noticed my body changing and began to shed fat and build muscle. I have now lost over 30lbs and I am stronger, faster and leaner than before. I want to thank all of the coaches and members at CrossFit FAST for helping me reach my goals.
I can only think of one way to describe Crossfit FAST, life-changing. The amount of progress I saw in the three short weeks I was there was amazing. The coaching staff pushed me to a level of fitness that I could not have imagined before joining. The WOD’s are challenging yet achievable with the community and motivation that is received from the other participants. The community of this gym is unlike any other you have seen before, the people feed off each other in order to achieve their goals. Crossfit FAST in Westlake Village is one of the best gyms I have seen from the amazing coaching staff, to the community that it possesses. I highly recommend it for any level of fitness whether you want to take that first step or you’re an experienced athlete and want to push yourself to the next level. I send my thanks to the coaching staff and I look forward to when I return from college and I am able to join the run again.
